Company History
Uplift Technologies Inc. was forged from a great idea, determination and successful products.
It began in 1993 when owner, Michael Speraw, incorporated DayLight Technologies. The company exclusively manufactured Day-Light bright light therapy systems used to alleviate the symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) or the 'Winter Blues.'
In the fall of 1995, the company began manufacturing a new innovative product, the Uplift Seat Assist. This addition to our Home Medical Equipment (HME) line was the hit that inspired the company's name change to Uplift Technologies Inc. in 1999.
Growth and expansion of our product line are constants at Uplift Technologies. We have an active dealer network of over 1,300 customers and are continually seeking ways to foster these relationships to better serve customers through the best possible product offerings.
We are based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and manufacture two distinctive product lines under several brands.
• Specialty assistive lifting seat products that enhance the quality of life for those who need some help due to a variety of health conditions;
and
• Bright light therapy systems for those who are seasonally daylight deprived or require regulation of their sleeping cycles due to frequent travel or shift work.
Our Home Medical Equipment line is produced under the brand name Uplift, while the UPEASY brand meets the needs of our retail and consumer markets. The Risedale brand features a discreet, wing-back lifting seat chair that combines the style you want with the function you need.
Our leading Day-Light Bright Light Therapy systems meet the strict guidelines necessary for effective light therapy treatment. With Day-Lights, home users can purchase the same products chosen and used by researchers around the world.
